About

About

Tobin has been an attorney with the Washoe County Public Defender’s office for the last 25 years and has represented our communities’ most vulnerable population. His legal work experience includes all types of cases, from disturbing the peace all they up to death penalty work.

Over the years, Tobin has devoted his free time to helping the kids in our community through various means. He was a mock trial coach at Wooster High School, working with their program to qualify for the state tournament in Las Vegas. He coached the kids of Centennial Little League during the regular baseball seasons and the All-Star tournaments. He has also coached a travel baseball team and supported both the Velocity and Wolfpack baseball programs.

Spending so much time working in the court system has taught Tobin that empathy and listening are essential to a good working relationship with all parties involved. His career has prepared him to be a compassionate, fair, and just person who is ready to be a Sparks Municipal Court judge.

Tobin wants to represent the people of Sparks where he can continue to provide compassion and understanding to victims of crime, the people that commit those offenses, and their families. A crime is like a rock thrown into calm waters.  The ripples caused by that rock affect everyone in the community. He intends to interpret and apply the law in a fair and impartial manner, while being objective to both the state and the defense.

Tobin has been a resident of the City of Sparks for the past 15 years. He is married with two children and is proud to be a member of this community and wishes to serve the people that live and work here. He will serve the City of Sparks as a Municipal Court Judge in a fair and honorable way.
